Scanner Privacy Policy

Scanner processes your documents on your device. We never upload, store, or view your scans. We only collect basic analytics and ad metadata to improve and support the app.

1. Information We Collect

Scanned content stays on your device for capture, enhancement, OCR, PDF export, and sharing you choose. We do not transmit or store your documents on our servers.

Analytics & advertising data: basic crash reports, device information, feature usage (via Firebase), and advertising ID / device info / ad interactions (via Google AdMob). No documents, names, emails, or contact info are collected.

2. How We Use Information

Analytics: Fix crashes, improve performance, and prioritize scanning, OCR, and export features.

Advertising: Show relevant ads and help keep Scanner free. You can opt out of ad personalization in iOS settings or when prompted by App Tracking Transparency.

3. Permissions

• Camera: required for scanning documents and photos.
• Photos/Files: optional for importing and saving scans.
• Tracking (ATT): optional for ad personalization; you can decline.

4. Data Storage & Security

All processing happens locally using iOS frameworks (VisionKit, Vision, CoreImage, PDFKit) in Apple's sandbox. Temporary data is cleared when you close the app; exports stay only where you save or share them.

5. Third-Party Services

Important: These services receive only analytics and advertising data — never your scanned documents.

6. Data Retention

Scans exist only where you save or share them. We do not keep server copies. Firebase may retain aggregated analytics for up to 26 months.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Modified" date.
